The night of 20th February was forecast to be dry although a little cooler so I put the trap out again and attracted :

1x Pale Brindled Beauty, 3 x Agnopterix heracliana and 1 x Chestnut. The Chestnut being the 5th species of the year so far.

Moth Trap - 2014 begins

I have had the Moth Trap out 6 times this year with no success. To be fair it has either been quite cold or VERY wet so conditions haven't been ideal and whilst I have not been expecting a lot I had at least hoped for something. The last time I saw a moth was December 7th!

Last night (18th Feb) conditions did look a bit more favourable, however, with temperatures forecast to range from about 5C to10C so I tried the trap again and got 4 new moths.
